Happy New Year - Toga Party?

How do you plan to celebrate New Year's Eve?

Maybe an old school Toga party?

Will you celebrate with Friends?

Monica and Ross do 'The Routine' at Dick Clark's
New Year's Eve taping

Have you made your New Year's resolutions?

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.

New Year's Toast

Here's a toast to the future,
A toast to the past,
And a toast to our friends, far and near.
May the future be pleasant,
The past a bright dream,
May our friends remain faithful and dear.

7:00-Board game of some sort
7:10-Open bottle of New Years wine
8:30-Reruns of 'The Big Bang Theory'
9:45-Fall asleep while watching the aforementioned
10:30-Son and daughter leave house after deciding nothing fun will happen with mom and dad
11:30-Eyes peek open, look at clock, decide there's still time
11:55-Holy crap! It's almost midnight!
11:56-Decide that rerun of 'Monk' isn't Rockin' New year's Eve. Switch channel.
11:58-Comment on all those "dumbass" people in Times Square. Especially the dopes wearing "2009" hats.
12:00- Listen to Dick Clark countdown.
12:01-Turn out lights. Go to bed.
Yep.
Let the good times roll.
Happy New Year!

Wow, Al has it all planned out, doesn't he?

I expect my family will have some sort of movie night. Maybe I'll be able to do some writing. I'll moan a lot about going back to work on Monday.

That's about it, I'm afraid!

Old Kitty - I wouldn't wear a sheet without wearing my regular clothes underneath! Not at my age! Haha! And I don't make New Year's resolutions either!

Al - Sounds like my kind of celebration. I love quiet holidays and always fall asleep before midnight!

Catherine - thanks for stopping by. Happy New Year to you, too!

Dianne - Movie night with the family sounds like fun. And if you get some writing in, too, all the better!

Farawayeyes - Toga parties are good ice breakers and fun if you've never been to one. I've never been to an ugly sweater party. I think I've been missing out! One of these days ...

Alex - Quiet holidays are great! Happy New Year, Alex!

I was at the "World's Largest Toga Party," in Madison, WI shortly after Animal House came out. I was visiting my brother at University of Wisconsin, and we had a blast watching everyone in their togas take over the campus! Hope you and your family have a very happy and healthy New Year Lynn! Julie

With no babysitter available, I'll be at home with my son and hubby eating pizza. Not so bad at all! :) Happy New Year!

LOL LOL, I know for sure I won't be spending it at a toga party. That picture is classic. :D

Happy New Year to you, Lynn! I wish you all the best for 2012! :)

J.A. - Aw, thank you!

Julie- Wow, the world's largest toga party, that's awesome! Animal House is one of my hubby's favorite movies. We saw it at the movies when it first came out. An instant hit! You should do a blog post about that toga party! Happy New Year to you, too, Julie!

Eagle - I hope I can make it to midnight to watch the ball drop! I like quiet, peaceful holidays. Nice!

Sharon - Where do you get the energy? I hope you guys have a blast, and the nice thing about having the party at your house is you don't have to drive home!

Nancy - Thanks! Happy New Year to you, too!

Munir - Thank you for the well wishes. God bless you and your family, too. Happy New Year!

Tricia - I'm so glad I made you smile! Definitely a great way to start the New Year. Cheers to you, too, Pat!

Putting kids to bed on time, watching a movie, drinking some beer. A 70's era toga party sounds good, too, though.

We stayed home and had a really fun time with the kids and a new kitten :-)

I keep a list of resolutions throughout the year and work toward them every day. I've stopped making special goals just at the beginning of the year a long time ago.

Happy New Year!

My New Year's Eve was pretty quiet - just the way I like it. My daughter and son in law and I visited, played games on FB and enjoyed the antics of their two girls. No toga parties. Very limited quantities of wine, since I had to drive home, lots of food and a wonderful dinner with family. who could ask for more?
